EPM 11.2 Important Oracle Links

I will update this post after I can find the updated Certification Matrix for EPM 11.2.

Here's Oracle's EPM 11.2 Release Acccouncement

EPM 11.2 Documentation Landing Page.  This is your one-stop-shop for all of the administration and installation guides.

You can download the software by signing in with your Oracle Support credentials to Oracle eDelivery
Once you login, type "EPM" into the search box and then click the Search button.
You will see multiple "11.2.0.0" download packages.  You don't need to grab them all, as there is overlap across many of them.

Bookmark this page and come back to it soon.  As of this writing, it doesn't have the Supported Platform / Certification Matrix for EPM 11.2, but I suspect it will be updated very soon:

Dec 20, 2019 Update: The EPM 11.2 Certification Matrix is now available.

Generally speaking, you will want to download:
  • Oracle HTTP Server 12
  • ODI Studio 12 if you are doing anything with FDMEE
  • EPM zips  Grab the full set and then you can pick and choose which modules to install when you run through the installation tool.
  • Windows Client Installers
  • Installation Readmes
Some of the packages include optional packages you might not need, such as Oracle SOA or Oracle Identity Manager.

Analysis to follow after I've had a chance to finish downloading and can spin it up in a sandbox.

  1. Dave, I found that ODI studio 12.2.1.3 is automatically installed with the FDMEE deployment. It ignored the RCU-created schemas, it's using the DB created by FDMEE like before.

    1. Hi Karin, yes having ODI Studio automatically installed for us is a big help. The web client is still available and it automatically knows about the FDMEE connection and the Master & Work repositories, just as before. The thick client does require telling the FDMEE app consultant the necessary database credentials... and which JDK/JRE to use.

  2. I want to know where the promised HFM metadata editor or 'HFM Console' is. Nowhere in Consolidation Admin, or HFM, or utilities. HFM client gone, no suggested method of where and how to edit metadata (other than just a text editor).
I tested HFM client from 11.1.2.4 (.1.2.3.702) with an .app file extracted out of HFM 11.2 sample app, but found issues displaying the Tree View for Accounts and all Custom dimensions.

    1. Hi Karin,

The HFM metadata editor and other HFM utilities were removed in 11.1.2.4 and I have yet to see any of the promised features on the application side in 11.2 just yet. So far things are looking like a technical refresh so that the OS, database, underlying Middleware, Java, etc., all are given a breath of life to extend their support timelines.

The only HFM utility in 11.2 is here:
      \Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\FinancialManagement\Utilities\MetadataMerge

You must edit MetadataMerge.bat before you try to run it, as it references jdk160_35, which doesn't exist in 11.2. Replace the jdk160_35 reference with the jdk8 you're using (\Oracle\Middleware\jdk1.8.0_181 by default, but this is already out of date... expect a new blog post just about that topic)
